

“Denominations” are religious sects, each having its own way to serve God that is somewhat distinct from other ways. We seek to be undenominational by trying to follow only the Bible and in not being tied to any larger organization.
Is Castleberry church connected to other churches?
Castleberry church is independent of all other religious groups. It is not overseen by a board or headquarters.
How is Castleberry church governed?
We seek to follow the New Testament model of leadership. Elders, deacons, teachers, and preachers are selected based on their spiritual qualities and talents. Elders shepherd and oversee the work of the local congregation. Deacons serve in special capacities. Teachers and preachers help people understand and follow God’s word.
What does Castleberry church believe about the Bible?
The Bible was written by men who were overseen by the Spirit of God to the end that it is the word of God. As God’s word, the New Testament should be the standard for all matters pertaining to religion.
Does Castleberry church baptize only by immersion?
Yes. The English word “baptize” comes from the Greek word baptizo and literally means “to dip, to immerse, to plunge.” Immersion conforms to the description of baptism given by the apostle Paul in Romans 6:3-5 where he likens it to being buried and raised.
How often do you take the Lord's Supper?
Every Sunday, the first day of the week, Castleberry church meets to worship God, encourage one another, and partake of the Lord’s Supper.
I’ve heard you don’t use musical instruments in your worship. Why not?
The New Testament does not mention instruments of any kind in the church’s worship. In an effort to practice New Testament worship, the music of Castleberry church is a cappella singing – unaccompanied by instruments.
